About Us
The purpose of the club to promote learning in the area of computer security and to train and field a team to compete in organized Capture the Flag (CTF) events.
We do everything aboveboard for the sole purpose of knowledge acquisition. In order to be a member, you must sign the ethics statement.
Achievements
- 1st place (Academic Institution) in DC3 Forensics competition under the name 0x28 Thieves
- 1st of 30 teams in the Amateur Capture the Flag II (aCTF2.0) at Defcon 14 in Las Vegas on August 4-6, 2006
- 2nd of 20 teams in the CIPHER2 computer security competition sponsored by Technical University of Aachen, Germany
- 3rd of 25 teams at 2006 UCSB International Capture The Flag
- 7th out of 8 teams in the DefCon 15 CTF competition in Las Vegas, NV under the name 0x28 Thieves
- 5th of 150 teams in the 2007 Kenshoto DefCon CTF Qualifier under the name 0x28 Thieves
- 11th out of 400+ teams in the 2008 Kenshoto DefCon CTF Qualifier under the name 0x28 Thieves
- 14th of 22 teams in the 2005 University of California-Santa Barbara International Capture The Flag
- 2nd of 7 teams in the 2006 Southeastern Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition at Kennesaw State University
- 9th of 69 teams in the 2006 Kenshoto DefCon CTF Qualifier
- 5th Place at the 2007 UCSB International Capture The Flag (1st place in North America)
- Recognized by the USF Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering at the 2006 Achievement Awards Gala
